Lucinda Doherty

Lucinda started working in fertility in 1991, in the Assisted Conception Unit at Birmingham Women’s Hospital (BWH). Over a period of 13 years, she worked with some of the most eminent medical and scientific colleagues and contributed to five fertility publications. She assisted in setting up IVF at BWH and then proceeded to set up the egg donation programme - this then led to the development and implementation of the first NHS egg sharing programme. She has spoken at several conferences detailing the egg sharing scheme and was one of the first nurses in the UK to perform an embryo transfer.

Lucinda has also spent 10 years working at the largest NHS satellite unit in Yorkshire. Here she completed her training in contraception and sexual health and also became a Nurse Prescriber.

Lucinda joined CREATE Fertility in October 2019 and was delighted to be asked to work within abc ivf. She finds that seeing couples from the beginning of their journey and all the way through to the early stages of their pregnancy so fulfilling.
